It has been pointed out to me I haven't posted in awhile. That's because I've been putting everything new on the website instead of writing about it. I need a staff!
Last November the sun came from behind the clouds and I started painting in earnest and building what might actually be considered a body of work -- rather than the Frankenstein's monster I'd been gathering all these years. Its focus is human territory: the occupied landscape.
Rather than begin at the beginning, here is one of the latest pieces. I paint with a knife, thus avoiding the need for solvents, and adding that element of sculpture with impasto that I love so much!

Terrific piece. Fearless color and application. Also it's quite a task to find yellow in the Seattle landscape. I've missed your posts.
Beth, what a fabulous painting! LOVE the colors and the direction you are taking...
Delorse
Bill and Delorse, thank you so much for your kind words! Each of you is an inspiration to me through your work and the attitude toward life that it conveys. Even though I have never met you, Bill, I have followed your work for a long time with great pleasure. I wonder if my dear friend Delorse and I missed out on meeting you when Portland sketchers came to Seattle last year? Naybe next time!
Beth, I was indeed among the Portland group who visited Seattle a while back. It was great to meet up with some of the folks I met at the first USk symposium and to meet new sketchaholics. I'm sorry we missed each other. My daughter lives in Seattle so I get up there once in a while. Maybe we'll meet up some other time. In the meantime, I look forward to seeing more of your beautiful work here.
